The Wild Place Unschool Drop-off is an outdoor program that provides space and opportunities for early elementary-aged students to experience joy and autonomy while using natural and up-cycled materials to create, explore curiosities, and de-stress. The “class” will develop organically through exploration of the park and the Playthings we bring. We may be hiking and studying creatures one day and collaboratively painting the next. We trust your children to show us what they are ready for.
We are excited to meet at Sparks Park, which is the site of the old Sparks Elementary School. The grounds include ample parking space, a large ball field, and a beautiful winding creek throughout. There are no facilities here, but we use a small school bus as a mobile classroom of sorts- a place to retreat to during inclement weather, food/water storage, bathroom, and material storage. (The bus will NOT be used to drive children anywhere.)
Classes run weekly on Monday/Wednesday 9-2pm
+ September 6-December 13
+ February 26-June 12
Each 14 week session costs $1,120
(breaks down to $40 per day or $8 per hour)
**We offer a 20% discount for each sibling. **

"This past year I have watched so many skills and gifts naturally develop and strengthen like conflict resolution, problems solving, and self confidence. As a parent, I can drop them off knowing my children will be accepted, treated with respect, and kept safe. Our family absolutely loves the wild place." ~ Gillian H.
"My son attended The Wild Place during the 2022-2023 school year. It was important to me that he have a mainly outdoor, play based experience ahead of kindergarten and he absolutely got that. I never worried about his safety as Jennifer carefully and meticulously built up confidence in these children to play and explore nature in a way that was safe and exciting for them. My son started the year hesitant about anything in nature and ended the year playing in the creek and educating us on how to identify different plants. He came home most days sweaty, dirty and so excited to talk about his day and what he did with his friends. I cannot recommend this program enough!" ~ Susan R.
"The Wild Place holds a special place in my family’s heart. It’s a place I know without a doubt that childhood as nature intended it is protected and celebrated. A place that my child’s spirit is nurtured and the wild in her is allowed to be all that it is. No scripted lessons, no themes, just play- pure play in a beautiful inviting space. I love that my kiddo learned that she CAN climb, CAN take a risk, and CAN trust her body, her heart, and her soul as she plays with some of the best friends she has ever had. We only wish my daughter could attend more often!" ~ Katie R.
